The work of Internationale Flugambulanz e.V. stretches far beyond caring for its members
Our association is committed to helping others, and has supported many projects over the past few years. International humanitarian aid is just as important to us as sponsoring regional associations and supporting local institutions.
NATIONAL PROJECTS
The IFA supports box & run
Even Nuremberg has its share of children who get off to a bad start in life. The ones who come to “box & run” are lucky. “box & run” is an organization that helps young people with significant potential for violence to develop character and set a positive example for the rest of society.
Bernhard Nuss and his active team in Nuremberg have created an unprecedented pilot project for Germany. Mentor for the organization’s young athletes is none other than world-famous bodyguard Peter Althof. We at Internationalen Flugambulanz e.V. will also be lending our support. The future lies ahead – for all of us!
Hot meals
The IFA donates regularly to “Stadtmission Nürnberg” who provide children from underprivileged families with a hot meal every day.
Even within Germany, there are many families and institutions who are dependent on aid
Internationale Flugambulanz e.V. donates to FFW Wölkau
The IFA donated furniture and technical equipment worth approximately 5,000 Euros to the volunteer fire brigade in Wölkau, Germany. The equipment – including desks, a copier, printer, and even a small fitted kitchen – was donated from the inventory of the former IFA air rescue center at Leipzig/Halle airport.
These donations from the IFA were just what the Wölkau volunteer fire brigade needed to equip their new fire station.
The IFA was pleased to make this donation to a volunteer fire brigade, as the IFA recognizes the importance and dedication of such volunteer organizations.
Donation to DJV-Landesverband Sachsen e.V.
Internationale Flugambulanz e.V. presented the German Journalist Association in Dresden with a donation of 1,000 Euros to support underprivileged members of the association. For several years, the IFA has supported people here who are in need through no fault of their own.
IFA aid in the Mosel region
Margret K. was overjoyed to receive a prompt donation from the IFA. Margret is a long-standing IFA member who, after becoming seriously ill, had to attend a specialist clinic far away from her home for an extended period of time. She faced substantial travel expenses, which were not covered by her health insurance. Margret turned to the IFA for help, and the association offered their support immediately with a donation of several hundred Euros.
IFA donation to “Kinderluftbrücke e.V.” received by Witta Pohl
During an exhibition to celebrate 15 years of “Kinderluftbrücke Witta Pohl e.V.” in the photogallery Mühle Barby in Schönebeck, Saxony, Internationale Flugambulanz e.V. presented a 500 euro donation to the Hamburg-based association, well-known for its important aid work. Witta Pohl was available to receive the check personally.
The IFA helped Witta Pohl’s association by airlifting little Oleg from Kiev in 1993.
The infant was born with severe heart deformities. The doctors had already given up all hope. He would have died within 24 hours.
In a dramatic air lift planned by Kinderluftbrücke e.V., the young patient was rescued overnight – despite bureaucratic complications – and flown to Kiel under the care of specialist doctors in an ambulance jet equipped with the latest medical equipment. Surgeons were able to successfully operate on him after he arrived.
Of course, the IFA paid for the airlift, which cost approximately 30,000 DM at the time.
