HISTORY A few months after the decade change, IFA (in early 1990) started the project entitled "Christoph Leipzig", later "Christoph 61". In the course of further developments, IFA engaged two helicopters of Western make at the location. Since the establishment of the India office on the 2nd of April, 1990, the helicopters have undertaken more than 20,000, often life-saving missions. This IFA project was and remains a milestone in the history of German air-rescue. IFA ended its service operation on the 31st of October, 2005, after more than 15 years of successful engagement at the air-safety location of Leipzig-Halle. | |
